Terms and conditions

Terms of Service

These terms explain the rules for using Congregation Commerce, including organization workspaces, merchant onboarding, outreach tools, and connected services.

Last updated: August 25, 2026

Welcome to Congregation Commerce. Congregation Commerce is a merchant-processing support and organization-management platform for places of worship, private schools, organizations, and approved businesses. In these Terms, “Congregation Commerce,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the service operator identified through this website, and “you” means the person or organization using the service.

By accessing, registering for, or using the application and website (together, the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms for that organization.

1. Accounts and authorized use

You must provide accurate information, keep your account credentials secure, and promptly update information that changes. Accounts are intended for people who are at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement.

You are responsible for activity performed through your account and for ensuring that your staff, organization members, and invited users follow these Terms. Do not share credentials, bypass access controls, impersonate another person, or use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or deceptive activity.

2. Organization workspaces and permissions

Congregation Commerce may provide organization workspaces, staff assignments, ambassador access, invitations, prospects, templates, notes, onboarding guides, and related tools. Your access depends on the organization, role, and assignments configured by authorized administrators.

Organization administrators are responsible for inviting the right people, maintaining permissions, and removing access when someone no longer needs it. We may rely on an organization administrator’s instructions regarding workspace access and records.

3. Merchant-processing relationship

Congregation Commerce is a technology and support platform. It is not a bank, card network, payment processor, acquiring bank, lender, tax adviser, or legal adviser. Any processing account, pricing, underwriting, settlement, reserve, payout, chargeback, or residual arrangement is governed by the applicable provider’s separate agreement.

Using the Service does not guarantee approval, a particular processing rate, funding outcome, monthly revenue-share amount, or support payment. We do not advise you to stop using an existing processor or change your business operations without reviewing the applicable provider terms and making an informed decision.

4. Prospects, invitations, and imported contacts

Outreach features allow authorized users to manage prospects and send or queue rate-review invitations. You are responsible for having a lawful basis and any required permission to provide contact information and send communications. You must honor opt-outs, suppression requests, and applicable email and privacy laws.

Contact imports from Google, Microsoft, a device address book, CSV, or vCard are provided for the selected workflow. Remove records you do not need. A contact being imported or queued does not mean an email was delivered. The Service may record queued, sent, failed, opened, or other communication events when supported by the relevant provider.

5. Your content and our limited license

You retain ownership of information and content you submit, upload, or connect to the Service (“Your Content”). You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to provide Your Content and authorize us to process it.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, reproduce, organize, transmit, and otherwise process Your Content only as needed to provide, secure, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Service, comply with law, and carry out instructions from authorized users. We do not receive a perpetual right to publicly share private merchant records, uploaded statements, identity information, or organization data.

6. Sensitive merchant information

Do not place bank-account credentials, passwords, full payment-card numbers, authentication codes, or other information in a public intake form or an unnecessary message. Use the provider-hosted application or the specific secure upload flow intended for sensitive merchant documents.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Notify us promptly if you believe your account or submitted information has been accessed improperly.

7. Fees, cancellation, and service changes

If a paid plan or fee applies, the price, billing interval, renewal terms, and cancellation method will be shown before purchase or in a separate order or agreement. Unless a separate agreement says otherwise, you may cancel a recurring plan through the available account controls, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Amounts already paid are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, including third-party connections, when reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, legal compliance, or product changes. We will not be responsible for a provider’s outage, approval decision, delivery failure, or other service outside our reasonable control.

8. Intellectual property and feedback

The Service, its software, branding, designs, documentation, templates, and content provided by us are owned by Congregation Commerce or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. These Terms give you a limited, non-transferable right to use the Service while your account is authorized; they do not transfer ownership.

If you provide suggestions or feedback, you allow us to use it without restriction or compensation, provided we do not identify you or disclose Your Content as the source without permission.

9. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and the accuracy or completeness of recommendations, estimates, pricing information, or workflow results.

Congregation Commerce does not provide legal, accounting, tax, financial, or payment-processing advice. You should obtain professional advice for decisions that require it.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Congregation Commerce and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, business opportunities, goodwill, or data, arising from or related to the Service.

Our total aggregate liability for claims arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars. This limitation does not apply where applicable law does not permit it, including certain liabilities that cannot legally be limited.

11. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and hold harmless Congregation Commerce and its affiliates, officers, employees, and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your unlawful use of the Service, violation of these Terms, infringement of another person’s rights, or failure to obtain required permission for Your Content or communications.

12. Suspension, termination, and records

We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these Terms, create security or legal risk, fail to pay applicable fees, or if the Service is discontinued. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and dispute provisions—will survive.

Termination does not automatically erase records that an organization, provider, or law requires us to retain, including audit records, financial-related records, communication records, or records needed to resolve disputes.

13. Governing law and disputes

Unless a separate written agreement or applicable law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any permitted court proceeding relating to these Terms will be brought in the state or federal courts serving Oakland County, Michigan, and you consent to their jurisdiction and venue.

To the extent permitted by law, you and Congregation Commerce agree to bring claims only in your individual capacities and not as a plaintiff or class member in a class, collective, or representative action.

14. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. Questions about these Terms may be sent to info@congregationcommerce.com.
